Longleat Winery Cruise

Longleat Winery, 105 Old Weir Rd, Murchison — 31 minutes drive from Shepparton

Longleat is a picturesque Victorian vineyard on the west bank of the Goulburn River at Murchison. The 16 hectare property grows Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for premium red wines and Semillon and Riesling grapes for delicate white wines. There are 9 hectares under vine with room to extend plantings to around 12 hectares.

The oldest vines are 27 year old Shiraz from which we produce our premium red. The Cabernet, Semillon and Reisling vines date from the early 80's.

All grapes grown at Longleat are handpicked, to ensure maximum quality and to protect the root structure of the vines. It is this kind of commitment that ensures Longleat wines are consistent award winners in leading shows across Australia.

Wine is made onsite by Guido Vazzoler; a qualified winemaker with many years experience making wine for both large and smaller boutique producers.

All wines produced are single varietal and reflect the Longleat vineyard site, growing conditions of that vintage and the attention given to them by Guido. With many of the vines nearing 40 years of age the wines produced are displaying intense varietal flavours.

Visitors are encouraged to relax and taste the wines under the vined pergola. Picnickers are welcome and functions can be catered for at the vineyard.

Cellar Door and Casual Cafe open Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 5pm.  Lunch bookings essential. Longleat Wines, 105 Old Weir Road, Murchison 3610. Phone: 03 5826 2294
